Emily Brown is a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Kent. Emily approached us as her business was growing and she had outgrown her old DIY website, so needed something that was going to give her more of a sustainable digital presence long-term.

"I recently enlisted the help of Larrytech to create my new website for Lifestyle & Wedding Photography in Kent. Having been a full time photographer for two years and collected a strong portfolio of work, it was the right time to step away from cheap online templates and have a bespoke website created to accurately represent my brand and stand out from competitors.

The entire process from start to finish was a breeze, with the team identifying what I needed and simply making it happen.

The design is beautiful, matching my style of photography and personality perfectly and the website works wonderfully well on all devices – be it a mobile, tablet or desktop. Importantly, I can easily manage website content myself with their easy to use CMS, which is vital in helping my online brand grow.

Not only are they incredibly talented, but they are also a lovely bunch to work with.

I look forward to working with them on my next project and have no hesitation in recommending them to friends, family and clients." Emily Brown

Brief

Emily’s previous website was clunky and difficult to update, and with an already strong social media following, she understood the value behind having a website that was easy to update with fresh content to share with her followers, in turn promoting her business to a wider audience and creating more interaction throughout the site, so an easy to use CMS was a must.

The website also needed to showcase Emily’s portfolio – a key reason for clients choosing Emily as their photographer is because of the quality of her pictures, so it was important these were easy to find all over the website.

Ultimately, the website needed to appeal to Emily’s predominantly female target audience, and align with her personality and work.

The Project

Emily’s key target audience is females, and often slightly older females who may either be mothers of a bride, or a grandmother to a new-born baby. As such, we kept the overall look and feel of the website very soft and subtle in terms of colouring to match her branding, incorporating a floral feature that we felt would be appropriate and appeal to her key target audience.

Clients often buy into Emily, and she is a key reason why clients use her so we felt a welcoming profile on the homepage was a must. Clients will also want to see examples of Emily’s work through her portfolio, and it was decided this would be split with individual services for each gallery, so a website visitor can navigate their way to the offering most appropriate to them.

Another key for Emily’s website was giving information on her ‘now and forever’ sessions which are specifically designed sessions for individuals facing unique circumstances to help them establish memories that will last a lifetime. This is particularly close to Emily’s heart, and she wanted the ability to showcase individual’s stories. We have therefore designed the now and forever page to showcase these individual stories in more detail.

To really maximise the traffic back to her website, Emily’s blog was going to be crucial – the idea was to create new articles in the blog, and then share this over social media, driving traffic back to her website and sending positive signals to search engines. The blog is also set-up so Emily can add a combination of text and images of a variety of dimensions so she can display relevant work within her blog.

The Outcome

The website was launched a couple of months ago, and Emily is already seeing the positive results with enquiries coming through the website. Overall, we think the site is an excellent reflection of her work, incorporates her brand and starts to give an insight into her personality.

Emily was a great client to deal with and if you need any wedding or lifestyle photography then be sure to have a browse through her photography portfolio!
